CELS
Introduction
A first of a kind on the market instrument with unprecedented performance - the ultimate system for the investigation of optical effects on solid surfaces.
CELS is a unique tool offering comprehensive R&D studies in nano-photonics that are not possible by existing methods, especially when it comes to nano-sizes. We establish here a next generation of analytical methods to account for the fact that new devices and measuring techniques take the place of electronics.
CELS enables search and investigation of new phenomena in photonics, plasmonics, nano-photonics. Without restrictions to the type of material - metal, semiconductor or insulator.
CELS allows for accurate measurements of surface waves (high angular resolution of <0.05°), attenuation lengths of propagating PP at temperatures from 10°K to 900°K. Along with time-resolved effects/fs.
Key characteristics:
- Simultaneous integration of different sources of excitation
- Introduction of excitation, scanning and detection (ESD) channels
- Angular control of ESD channels
- Polarization control of scanning light
- X,Y, Z control over sample and ESD channels
- cw/pulsed regime of light operation
- temperature control over sample (20-900°K)
- UHV environment
The inclusion of the above technical solutions into one machine, the interplay between them eliminates the limitations of the existing experimental techniques.
Our method and equipment allows a broad range of investigations by combining several techniques in a single instrument. It allows excitation of surface wave SW in one place of the sample and detection of them in another using spectroscopy techniques. Among them, Raman scattering is particularly powerful as it can be performed at nanostructures, allows time resolution, mode and dispersion analysis.
